Mr. Johnson PCM Social Studies
WORLD GEOGRAPHY SUMMER PACKET
Now, more than ever, it is so important to know what is going on in our world around us. To do that, we must first know WHAT and WHERE is in the world around us, and WHERE it is. We will be covering a lot of news in Social Studies, both old news and current events. If you are going to keep up, you should have at least a basic knowledge of world geography. Task: This is a simple geography packet. Using whatever maps you have as a resource, identify the states, countries, continents and oceans in this packet. The Internet is not short on maps. All of this information is very easy to locate. And before you ask, yes, this is going to be graded.
Do you like extra credit? Well, I like colorful maps. Color in each map with different colors for different countries. For each map that is neatly and properly colored in you will receive extra credit.
Learning Objective: The Connecticut Social Studies Framework supports the learning of Geography from Kindergarten through Grade 12. This fundamental knowledge of geographic locations will allow students the prior knowledge to engage in geographic inquiry at more advanced levels.
