Good Afternoon!
On behalf of the Take A Vet Fishing Board of Directors, thank you for vol-
unteering at the 7th Annual Take A Vet Fishing event held this past week-
end in McFarland. Our volunteers are what makes it possible for us to
facilitate having these events throughout the year. You are a part of the
pulse making this happen!
This year, there were approximately 50 of you who selflessly lent a hand to
give back to our veterans. Some of you are the veterans we are honoring
on this day yet you stood up and served once again. It is an honor and a
privilege to have all you on board. When we say we couldn't do it without
you, it is meant literally!
In closing, it is always our hope that you had fun while you volunteered
and that you felt the same pride that we do when we put on the TAVF
events as a way of saying thank you to the veterans who have provided us
the freedoms we enjoy today. If you have any comments or suggestions
or if you know of a veteran who is in need, please feel free to contact me.
In the meantime, remember to thank a veteran for their service when you
see him or her.
Sincerely, Sherry Blanchar , McFarland TAVF Volunteer Coordinator

2018 YFC Outings
Lake MI charter fishing outing in Port Washington July/August: Currently we have 12 members signed up for 2 coho charters in June. Looking to chase down the mighty king salmon? We have mem-bers wanting to go and you can go with them in July or August. This is a well guided charter with club mem-ber and charter Captain John Iverson. We need to book a trip fast as spots are filling up. Trips are available during the week and weekends. Let me know if you’re interested. Up to 6 people on each trip are possible with many hour options. Check out www.iversonsportfishing.com for more information.
Eagle Lake Onatario Canada: We have 3 great resorts to choose from at great rates! All kinds of trips are
available including a bus trip. After speaking to owner Jeff Moreau of Temple Bay Lodge and the Expo we
could do the ultimate club trip with our own boats for as little as $250 a person for a group of 6 or the ridicu-
lously low rate of $167 per person for a group of 9. A week in Canada at these prices is pure awesome so
what are you waiting for?!
Help create YOUR outings for our club! Let me know what you want to fish for and where and I will try to set
an outing up. Better yet you can volunteer to lead an outing. Below is a calendar of likely and suggested out-
ings for 2018. Thanks and looking forward to our best fishing year yet
July: local outing, YFC on water meeting, Canada Eagle Lake, possible Green Bay, Lake MI Charter
August: YFC on water meeting, local outing, possible Lake Winnebago outing, Lake MI Charter
September: Clements Fishing Barge, Lake Mendota northern, Lake MI salmon

Updated: June 26, 2018 Due to significant rainfall, all lakes are above summer maximum water levels. The goal is to lower lake lev-els. The dams at Babcock County Park and LaFollette County Park are completely open in full flow condition and their associated locks are open for navigation. Flow out of Lake Mendota has been reduced below sea-sonable rates in order to allow downstream lake levels to decline. Aquatic plant harvesters are located in the Yahara River from Stoughton Dam to Lake Waubesa to remove aquatic plants impeding flow. Due to high water, pier owners are encouraged to raise, fasten, or remove pier section to prevent them from floating away. Slow-no-wake rules currently apply to Lakes Monona, Waubesa, and Kegonsa.
