YEAR
IN
2019-2020
“The money that gets donated through the Ed Foundation is like seed money for creativity in the district, making it not only valuable, but indispensable.”
– Dr. Steven Levin, CCUSD Board of Education Member

The past several months have been truly difficult and disruptive for us all, and especially for our children. The resiliency of our students continues to motivate the Culver City Education Foundation (CCEF) to ensure the most exceptional learning experiences for our school community.
The 2019-2020 school year began as usual and we achieved a great deal throughout the entire year both in-person and virtually,
as programs quickly pivoted in the spring. Highlights included the continued support of vital arts and STEM programs district-wide;
funding the purchase of additional culturally-relevant and inclusive
books for school libraries; and piloting the #IApplied initiative which covered the cost of a college application for 140+ graduating Culver City High School seniors.
Niche.com recently included CCUSD among the top 13 school districts in the area, and recognized CCUSD as the most diverse school district of the 78 districts within Los Angeles County. Together we have much to be proud of and grateful for. However, there continues to be a critical need to better serve our students throughout their academic journey with innovative and stimulating educational resources, and to affirm more equity across the district.
This Year in Review honors the great work we have collectively accomplished together during the previous school year. We thank
YOU for making this possible. Whether our students are inside the classrooms or learning through virtual means, programs that inspire
learning and promote success remain needed, valued, and impactful.

CCEF Arts Endowment Fund
CCUSD has built a reputation as a true leader in arts education. This commitment to comprehensive arts programming is one of the many reasons our schools are sought-after.
Arts programs provide creative outlets and valuable learning opportunities. They are essential components of a quality education, reinforcing literacy, spatial awareness, and cultural appreciation.
As a pledge to our students for years to come, CCEF launched a monumental $10 million Arts Endowment campaign in 2018.
Earnings from the CCEF Arts Endowment Fund will provide sustaining support for the vibrant programs at every CCUSD school such as visual arts classes, music education, teaching artists, the Front & Center Theatre Collaborative, dance instruction, film classes, the high school’s Academy of Visual and Performing Arts (AVPA), and future expanded offerings.
CCEF has raised $500,000 so far for this effort. Please visit our website to learn more about how you can make an investment in sustaining arts education for generations of students to come.

The Culver City Education Foundation raises funds to support and enhance a quality education for every student
in the Culver City Unified School District. CCEF supports district-wide endeavors benefiting over 7,000 students each year. For nearly 40 years, CCEF has successfully impacted the academic achievement and overall success of K-12 students at every CCUSD school.
Since its inception in 1981, CCEF has raised millions of dollars to support Culver City students, teachers, schools, and families by providing highly-valued educational programs and teaching innovations that would not be possible through government funding alone.
Programs funded by CCEF are as diverse as the student community it serves, ranging from visual and performing arts, college readiness, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), student wellness, and academic achievement.
