How to Apply for Financial Aid Online

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW Purpose: This slide show is intended to present a step-by-step

on how to apply for Financial Aid and therefore receive the funds necessary to continue your education.[[Prerequisites]]Skills: You must know how to browse the internet. You may choose which ever browser to use.Requirements: You must have your parent/guardian W2 Form and/or your own W2 Form, if applicable. If you need your parent/guardian W2 Form, both or one must be present when applying for Financial Aid online.Equipment Needed: A computer (preferably fast), Internet Connection (preferably fast) and an Email Address. If you do not have an Email Address, please take the time to set up an account beforehand.Danger/ Risks: Due to the rise in cyber-crime, it is advised that after the completion of your Financial Aid, you delete all private data and cookies on your Computer, to prevent identity theft or worse. However, the Financial Aid website and all affiliated government websites are secure and you need not worry about information interception.

NEEDING MORE THAN A WALLET -A Computer

-Internet Connection -(Preferrably high-speed)

-Email Account-Personal Information in hand such as but NOT limited to:-Full Name -Date of Birth-SSN -Any Applicable Handicaps-School Information -Home Address-Parents Personal information

APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID

1. Open your Internet Browser.

Example: Mozilla Firefox

http://www.pin.ed.gov/PINWebApp/pinindex.jsp

hand corner

4. Read the instructions and click on "Next" on the bottom right hand corner.

5. Answer the questions on the application screen and click on "Next" until you have completed the whole application.

6. Submit Application and open your Email Address you provided to the FAFSA site.

7. Open Email and Click on link to conform PIN registration.

APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID 8. Go to the FAFSA Website: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID 9.Click on "Search School Codes" to find

your desired College's Code.

APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID 10. Go to the FAFSA Home Page and

click on "Fill Out your FAFSA"

APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID 11. Click on "Sign Electronically with

your PIN"

APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID 12. Check the status of your FAFSA and/

or make any changes or corrections by clicking on "Check the status of your FAFSA.

APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID Congratulations, you have now

completed your Application for Financial Aid online. You can now receive the funds necessary to help you continue your education. You applied for a Federal PIN number, submitted your W2 Form Information, and successfully submitted your Financial Aid Application. Hopefully the steps were as simple and understandable as possible, making the application process as quick and effortless as possible.
