WHAT IS A CREDIT?
A credit is an assigned value given to a class/course.
A year long class will earn two one half credits or one credit.
A semester class earns only one half credit.
No credit is earned if a class is failed at semester. Core/required classes must be repeated if failed.

GPA is cumulative, it does not start over.
Transcripts Junior High classes
that are reflected on the high school transcript include World Language and Algebra I.
These classes are used for minimum college admissions and given high school credit. The grades earned are figured into the H.S. GPA
Credit is awarded at the end of each semester (two per year)
Attendance to summer school is reflected in a separate semester.

STAR GUIDELINESALL Students MUST bring academic
materials EVERY day!! ALL Students MUST be engaged in a
learning activity during the entire STAR period.
ALL Students MUST work individually or with an assigned tutor.
ALL Students MUST check in with their assigned STAR teacher before reporting to the “pass” teacher. Students must arrive to the “pass” teacher prior to the tardy bell and stay in that classroom for the remainder of the period.
ALL Students MUST be in their assigned area during STAR or they will be considered truant.
Progress ReportsGiven approximately every three
weeksReported in percentagesFinal grades are letter grades at
the end of the semester.Students failing a core class will
attend a STAR Study Group until the grade has been raised to passing.
