2. How does your organization approachinclusion education and training? Training on inclusion is brief and focused on educating employees on policies and meeting legal requirements. Programs address difficult and sometimes uncomfortable issues of stereotypes, bias, and -isms, and include skill development to address those issues. In-depth training and education programs focused on specific dimensions of diversity such as disability, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, generations, culture and ethnicity are offered and, in some cases, required. Inclusion is woven into all training and education and is tied directly to the organizations strategy, vision, and values. 3. Come onYou can do it!This is not what is meant by inclusion. Inclusion is more thanmeeting a quota or fulfilling a requirement.Inclusion is a sense of belonging: feeling respected, valuedfor who you are; feeling a level of supportive energy andcommitment from others so than you can do your best work.- Miller, Frederick A. and Katz, Judith H. 2002. The Inclusion Breakthrough: Unleashing the Real Power of Diversity. San Francisco: Berrett-Koehler Publishers Try again! 4. Good Start! Training on difficult subjects isimportant to exploring issues of diversity and inclusion. However, this is only the beginning. This type of training is excellent for organizations that are onthe path to being inclusive. Educating members & staff onthese issues will definitely help in becoming more inclusive in the future. Great Job!When inclusion is tied to the very strategy and vision of anorganization, it flows down to every part of what that organization does.Integrated inclusion training helps members & staff to understand howinclusion applies in all areas of their service & work.
