TTU Graduation, December 2014This is how I felt most of the time (thats my husband of 45 years) working on my degree in Technical Communication and Rhetoric.

I am a mother of two, grand mother of two, and great-grand mother of two. I also have three rescue fur-babies, 1)-12 year-old Shar-Pei/German Shepherd, 2)-4 year old, Chihuahua/German Shepherd, 3)-2 year old dachshund.

I have been at TAMUCC since 1997. First as a student (BA, MA, MS) and since 2003 as an instructor.

Course DescriptionThis online course is designed to help students learn to 1) analyze communication contexts in terms of audiences, purposes, and situations, 2) analyze and apply the ethical responsibilities involved in professional and technical writing, 3) use methods for audience analysis and participatory design, and 4) write and design multimodal documents that audiences find effective, convincing, and usableLocation : Online via BlackBoardActivities Due: T/R 5 pm & 11:59 pmMajor Assignments Due: March 12April 9May 7Prerequisites: ENGL 1302Credits: 3

Course DescriptionThe course is broken into two parts.Part One:From January 23 through and including February 23, we will be working from The Essentials of Technical Communication, our textbook.We will read two chapters per weekComplete a quiz for each chapterComplete an assignment for each chapterDue on Tuesdays and ThursdaysPart Two:From February 28-endWe will be working on the three major course projectsDue March 12, April 9, and May 7We will be applying what we learned in Part OneWe will have discussion and activities relating to the major projectsThese will be due on Tuesday and Thursdays

Required MaterialsThe Essentials of Technical Communication by Elizabeth Tebeaux and Sam Dragga, 3rd ed., Oxford University Press, 2014.
