4 Tips For Training Your DogWWW.BARKERANDBARKERTREATS.CO.UK
1) Have Realistic Expectations Changing your dogs behaviour will take time.
You will need realistic expectations about how long it will take to change bad behaviours.
Some behaviours such as barking will take a lot longer than say for instance teaching your dog to sit on command.
2) Be Consistent It is important to get everybody in the family involved when training a dog.
This is due to the fact that if different behaviours are treated differently by different family members your dog will never learn what it is that you want.
3) Find Dog Training ClassesYou may find it to beneficial to join a local dog training club when you are training your dog.
The purpose of the classes aren’t to train your dog but to help you understand how to train your dog.
These classes help because they will show you where you’re making mistakes.
4)Reward Good Behaviour You should reward your dogs good behaviour while training them.
The reason for this is because it gives your dog an incentive to follow your commands.
You can do this a number of ways including treats, toys, love, or heaps of praise.
