How did you attract/address your

audience?

• My magazine does use conventions from other professional magazines which helps attract my target audience of the indie-rock genre. As mentioned previously I did look to magazines such as The Fly, DIY and NME to set the basis for my own magazine.

Does your magazine use conventions from other professional magazines that

might help or attract an audience?

• I did consider using sattire language techniques in my music magazine which could further attract an older audience that could relate to this style of language. The layout design also sits well with my target demographic as it has a modern, fresh feel to it that goes in accordance with my chosen audience. The fonts used were of a sans-serif category with a simple and minimal feel to it; the colours chosen were also subtle creating a harmonious rendition of fonts and colours that are normally used in indie-rock magazines.

• The location of my models helped to communicate an edgy feel to my magazine, further adhering to the music genre of my magazine. Again, a more telling costume choice for the model on the front page of my magazine could have been used to make it a lot more easily identifiable that it was an indie-rock magazine

Did you choose lanuage techniques, layout design, fonts, colours, locations, props,

costumes or models to communicate a particular idea to your audience?

• Once the magazine was finished, the audience reacted positively towards it with many saying that the front page set the tone for the rest of the magazine, although I still beg to differ. Many also said that my DPS looked as though it was derived from a professional magazine. From the research conducted, I think it is safe to say that replacing the magazine title ‘Stupendous’ for ‘Reborn’ proved to be a successful choice.
