experience with Spanish, you can test out of thoselower division classes through a proficiency exam.

Each class has a different amountand type of workload. Plan out yourschedule with your advisor so youcan spread out your classes andlearn from a variety of teachers.

Use online and app resourcesThere are many apps and websites, like Duolingo,

that can help you with language practice andretention.

Take advantage of the on-campusresources

There are tutoring labs and conversation tableswhere you can practice your Spanish with other

Spanish speakers.

Take whatinterests you

Once you get throughthe beginning classesyou can take a varietyof classes about theSpanish language,

culture and literatureas you work on

becoming bilingual.

Study abroadNothing is more beneficial for your language

education than experiencing immersion in anotherculture. It will increase your love for the culture

and improve your language proficiency.

Search for a Spanish-speaking job

Ask your professors about working as a Spanishtutor or grader. This will help improve your language

abilities. Ask around in the community aboutopportunities as well. Local churches, medicaloffices, and businesses are often searching for

translators.
