He is the image of God, and the first born of creation, v 15 He created all things, v 16

He is before all things, and He is the sustainer of all things, v 17

He is the Head of the Church, v 18 He is God, the Fulfiller v 19

He is the Reconciler, v 20

… and through Him to reconcile ALL THINGS to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in this present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people zealous for good deeds.

Sin is the problem…, what is the solution? The world is wrecked by sin The first promise of a solution, Genesis 3:15

One world religion Nations created

God needed a pure nation for a pure Savior

Land, King, and People

A great name A blessing to ALL

The covenant, Genesis 15 Genesis 15:6, based on faith Unconditional, therefore it is eternal, and cannot be

broken, Genesis 15:12, 17-18 Confirmed to Isaac and Jacob

God promised Abram a land, Gen 15:7, 18

God calls Moses to deliver His people

Law is a revelation of righteousness and a means of testing, Deuteronomy 28

God confirms the Land promise to the nation in the Land Covenant, Deuteronomy 29:14, 30:1-5 Eternal and unconditional

The people want a King, God gives them who they want, Saul

The Ruler of God’s people would be from Judah, Gen 49:10

God chooses David, 1 Samuel 16:12-13

God confirms the choice: The Davidic Covenant

Messiah is the one who would reign forever

Isaiah 61:1-3 Luke 4:18-19 equates Isaiah 61:1-2 to the First Coming of

Christ Jews wanted the “Day of Vengeance”

Isaiah 61:10-11, His Kingdom is for righteousness, He is dealing with the problem of sin

Daniel 9:24-27 Decree to rebuild the city in Nehemiah 2, March 5, 444

BC 173,880 days later the Messiah would come

Palm Sunday AD 33, Sir Robert Anderson Prince, because He would be rejected as King

The people in God’s Kingdom must be righteous, Isaiah 57:13

Righteousness based on FAITH Hebrews 11

Noah, Abraham, Moses, Rahab… etc.

Penalty of sin is death, Gen 2:17, Rom 6:23a Blood must be shed for forgiveness Lev 17:11, Heb 9:22 Christ’s sacrifice was complete, Hebrews 9:11-14

The New Covenant will give righteousness Jeremiah 31:31-34 Ezekiel 11:19-20, 16:60-63 Isaiah 59:21

The New Covenant was initiated by the word of God, Jeremiah 31:31-34

The New Covenant was ratified in the blood of Christ, Luke 22:20, Matthew 26:27-28

The New Covenant will be fulfilled in the future Zechariah 12:10 Hosea 6:1-3

The New Covenant will be in effect in the Millennial Kingdom

His dominion is an everlasting dominion which will not pass away; and His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed.

And not only this, but we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:23

Christ will reconcile all things unto Himself, Col 1:20
