From our observation and inter-view, we notice that poverty is not a main issue of the residents in KRRL.

Most residents are not poor financially, they have adequate resources and jobs to sustain them and their families.

5 DISCUSSION

3 antenas/ house Housing issues were raised by the stakeholders during the MSD. The three main issues were coded 3K - Kebersihan, Kesihatan, Kesela-matan. (Hygiene, Health, Safety).

Local leaders seem to be effec-tive mediators between the community and authorities.

Leaders do not decide on their own, instead pass up predica-ments of the people to the gov-ernment (democratic)

The dirty area around their houses indicates lack of knowledge and concerns for the environment.

Residents seemed receptive to the idea of relocation as planned by the authorities.

They did raise the concern of accessibility to the sea.
