Overview: The current state assessment is designed to identify the current strategy, processes, and procedures used a guidelines for partnership between Fox Valley Christian Action and the local church. This assessment will also look at the role of the Community Advocate regarding church partnerships.
Goals: •Provide recommendations for next steps based on assessment findings
•Establish foundation for Church Engagement Methodology and Church Partnership ModelTactics:
•Interview Riverwood’s Community Advocates
•Interview church leadership
•Visit advocate communities
•Visit local churches
Objectives:•Assess current state of Riverwood’s church partnership methodology and approach
•Assess Riverwood’s church partnership regarding Discipleship, Education, and Daily Basic Needs

Suggested Engagement Methodology
The first step is for Fox Valley Christian Action to identify a service opportunity to engage a local church
The second step is for Fox Valley Christian Action to build a local partnership around the service opportunity
The third step is for Fox Valley Christian Action to facilitate and coordinate service with church partner
The fourth step is for Fox Valley Christian Action sustain and maintain partnership relationship ongoing
Suggested Bartered Services Advocacy Ministry/Church Partnership

Responsible for bridging the gap between the Advocates and the Pastor’s at local church in the Fox Valley.
Director of Church Mobilization
•Identify primary needs in assigned region in the Fox Valley
•Each advocate will integrate 3 families of youth into a local church
Riverworks Advocates
•Develop specific ministries to focus on needs of community
•Develop and execute a comprehensive approach to engage local church participation
Church PastorsBartered Services
•Use the Pastor’s page and The Work’s Blog to coordinate needs of the Fox Valley families•Raise awareness on computer needs for families to receive services at home

In partnership with the local church, Fox Valley Christian Action vision is to Holistically meet the needs of under resourced families in the Fox River Valley area. New media services like Facebook, Skype and Podcasting will be used to offer services online without the transportation or daycare issues.
