Death of RaiA police hit Lala Lajpat Rai on the chest during the Lathi-Charge.Rai Last Words – “I declare that the blows struck at me today will be the nails in the coffin of British rule in India”.Rai did not fully recover from his injuries and died on 17th November, 1928 of a heart attack. Rai death anniversary is celebrated as Martyr’s Day in India.
