1.0 INTRODUCTION

formerly known as Tuas Polytech Resource Centre was first set up in 1993 at Mara Building before moving to its temporary campus in Taman Shamelin Perkasa, Cheras.

Since year 2000, UniKL BMI Resource Centre has been located on the 7th and 8th floor of the Administration Building at its permanent campus in Gombak, Selangor.

The Resource Centre is a unit under the Academic Affairs and is headed by a Senior Librarian with 3 Library Assistants.

The study for this report focused on the views of customer about their satisfaction using this facilities and how to improve this service for Resource Center.

This investigation also to find out students’ opinions about the improvement can be made regarding on these facilities of library whether to add reference books, journal and computers. So this way can attract many students go to the library.

30 students were selected randomly and requested to fulfill the questionnaire

The Interviewee is Mrs. Roslina Binti Abdul Samad , who works at the Resource Center Management. She explained about the services provided by Resource Center UniKL BMI to students and also for the lecturer.

All the data collected were transcribed and analyzed.

• Resource centre provide good services for students

• Resource Centre’s team have the knowledge and skills regarding the provision of information as well as expertise in the use of all sources both printed and electronics.

• Libraries also provide Internet access with varied needs including web searching, research and studies.

3.0 RECOMMENDATIONS

Based on the findings and conclusions of the study, here

are several recommendations to be considered:

• RC should provide better ways to find the needed books easily like via computer system.

• operation hour need to be extended during exam period• Improve the facilities for photocopy and printing services• Loose the rules and regulation for the attire- allow student to wear

jacket • Increase the number of references book which are highly preferred

by the BMI lecturer • Update the reference book into latest version

4.0 CONCLUSION

• This research mainly discussed about the problem encounter by the resource centre and improve all the problem identified during the questionnaire session.

• This survey also helps us to identify the reason why less students use the facilities of the resource centre. For example, one of the main reason is the rule of attire.

• The identified recommendations as stated will help to increase the number of students using the library for study purposes.
