ARMENIA

The Republic of Armenia is a relatively small, mountainous country with a total area of 29,740 km2 , located in the South Caucasus. Armenia is located at the junction of the biogeographic zones and exhibits both a great range of altitudinal variation (from 375 m to the 4,095 m) and a diversity of climatic zones. Together this has resulted in a diversity of landscapes and ecological communities with a distinct flora and fauna, including many regionally endemic, relict, and rare species. Armenia is of particular importance as a center of endemism for wild relatives of economically important crop and livestock species. While encompassing only 5 % of the Caucasus area, Armenia incorporates nearly all types of the vegetation ecosystems found in the southern Caucasus, reflecting the great altitudinal variation and consequent juxtaposition of distinct ecosystems within limited areas.

Promoting non chemical agriculture by AWHHE NGO

• Raise awareness about agroecological approaches, sustainable and organic farming through information and education campaigns for farmers /more then 5000 farmers/

• Demonstrate the methods of alternative agriculture in the experimental fields and orchards / more than 100 experimental fields and orchards/

• Learn & apply agroecolgical approach replacing pesticide usage by plant tinctures (herbal pesticides)

– Over 70% of ingredients are sourced locally, in the Armenian highlands. Thanks to the altitude, clean environment, and abundance of sunlight, aromatic, medicinal plants that are grown in Armenia are rich in vitamins and healing essential oils.

Collections Nairian’s FACE line currently consists of a BASICS collection, an Anti-Age collection, and an Anti-Acne collection. In addition to that we also carry a collection for HAIR and a collection for BODY. Each collection is assigned a different colour.

These initiatives are promoting nature preservation by pursuing sustainable agriculture practices, while working towards bringing the companies’ environmental impacts and carbon footprints to an absolute minimum.
