Came from the Latin word Animatio which means the act of bringing life. animo ( to animate or give life to ) and atio ( the act of )is the process of creating the illusion of motion and shape change by means of the rapid display of sequence of static images that minimally differ from each other . Animators are the artist who specialize in the creation of animation.is an artist who creates multiple images, known as frames , which give an illusion of movement called animation when displayed in rapid sequence.ANIMATIONANIMATORS

In recent decades, a whole new career opportunity has emerge for creative Filipinos via the field of animation.



ANIMATION COUNCIL OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC. (ACPI)Aims to create an identity for the Philippines within the animation industry, making it one of the preferred sources of animation service worldwide.Developing animation as a promising career options for more Filipinos with the help of TESDA, other government agencies and LGU.In 2013, TESDA and ACPI began offering 2D and 3D Animation Scholarships to the interested high school graduates, between 18 and 45 years old.

Bobby Pontillasis one of the animators of Walt Disneys highest-grossing animated film of all timeFrozen. The thirty three-year-old Filipino animator is now a part of Walt Disney Animation and has worked for the moviesWreck It Ralph,Rio, andIce Age 4.2. Ruben Aquinois an animation artist born in Okinawa. He was the supervising animator behinddistinguished film characters like Ursula from the 1989 filmThe Little Mermaid, adult Simba inThe Lion King, Shang inMulan, andTarzanin 1999. He was given the Outstanding Individual Achievement for Character Animation Award during the International Animated Societys 26th annual Annie Awards.


3. Armand Serranois one of the animators behind the award-winning filmBig Hero 6. He was also part ofX-MenandFantastic Four. 9. Gini Cruz SantosAnimator behindThe Incredibles,Gini Cruz Santosis a Filipino but now based in Los Angeles, California. She studied fine arts with major in advertising in University of Santo Tomas before she became a part of Pixar Animation Studios.10. Anthony OcampoA graduate from the University of the Philippines,Anthony Ocampowent abroad to look for a job. He started working at Stargate Digital, and he is known as a part of USA Network Production specialHelen of Troy. He was awarded by the Visual Effects Society for the category Outstanding Models and Miniatures in a Televised Program, Music Video of Commercial. He is also one of the people behindSupernaturals,The Walking Dead, andHeroes.
