Type of music video

In my opinion the most effective music video we can achieve is a narrative/performance style where we cut between the narrative and performance throughout and use a range of locations for the performance to represent the conventions of our chosen genre.

For the song selection we should choose a song with clear conventions in a specific genre which will allow us to research the genre and represent the conventions within our music video. Songs within the Indie rock or alternative genre are more achievable as they allow us to create a narrative around the themes of the song.

Commercialization

There will be a range of locations used in our video, from research the most commonly used are fields, stages, carparks in the rock genre.

Music videos have to appeal to specific audiences. To make our video visually engaging we could use smoke machines and high key lighting. These are commonly used in the rock genre and are eye catching to viewers
