There is no fixed time when

the assignment should begiven.

If the assignment has no directbearing on the lesson at hand, itmay be given at the beginning of

the period.

If it is an outgrowth of thelesson, it may be given at the

end of the lesson.

Ordinary daily assignments shouldtake no more than 10 or 15 minutes

of a 60-minute class period andfrom 5 to 10 minutes of 40-minute

period.

NOTE: There is no place for anassignment given few seconds

before the bell rings.
