SPORTSMANSHIP Phil Wellman YES! This video was to make you laugh, but don’t
make the same mistake Phil did. Sportsmanship in the stands and in the arena at
all athletic events are very important to CVHS. Any and all unsportsmanlike conduct at sporting
events will suffer consequences. Coaches, AD’s, referees, and any other Staff
member in attendance have the right to ask you to leave after you are given just one warning.
We ask you to keep all cheering positive and not demeaning toward the opposing team.
GO TIGERS!!
UNIFORMS AND GEAR Each athlete is responsible for the care
and security of all uniform pieces and gear given to them by the coach.
Uniforms may only be worn outside the contest on game days if cleared by the coach of your sport.
All uniforms and gear not returned or returned in poor condition will be subject to a fine.
COMMUNICATION
If a problem should appropriate procedure for communicating that problem is as follows:1. Athlete sets up a meeting with his/her coach to
resolve the issue2. Athlete and parent set up a meeting with the
coach to resolve the issue3. Athlete, parent and coach set up a meeting with
the Athletic Director to resolve the issue. *NOTE: All staff will ensure that these
procedures are followed as to increase the chance of solving the problem with the utmost efficiency.
COMMUNICATION CONT.
Parents will not approach a coach with an issue immediately following a game or match. You are able however, to set up an appointment for the next day or soon after.
PLEASE REMEMBER that no “playing time” issues will be discussed with the parent. All concerns regarding the athletes playing time will be discussed directly with him/her.
SOCIAL MEDIA In this rapidly changing society social media becomes
more and more accessible and easy to use. The athletic department has began a Twitter account
that will post updated scores, changes in game schedules and other important news. Feel free to follow us at @CVHSTIGERSPORTS.
Social media can be a GREAT tool when used correctly but always be aware of possible dangers and consequences as a student athlete.
A new rule in the Code of Conduct treats all social media postings as legitimate actions that may result in serious consequences. Ex: In the occurrence you post a picture with alcohol in it,
you will face the consequences of underage drinking. Ex: In an occurrence of a post about ditching class, you will
face the same consequences as if you got caught.
MOST IMPORTANT!!
Remember that athletes are held to a higher standard for a reason!
HAVE FUN!! LOVE THE GAME!!
