( Thamasomaa Jyothirgamaya) The III standard Social Science book has come out in a convincingly remarkable

manner. It is a sure exhibit of highlighting the fact that teaching medium has

transformed from 'EXPLANATORY' to 'FIGURATIVE', no matter whatever be the subject. This gives an advantage of enjoying the very profession of teaching.Besides, another wonderful aspect is the horizontal spread that stretches and connects other subjects with social studies. In fact, this elicits the links between subjects that they cannot be taught in isolation and for this every teacher should

raise to the level of real “GURU” from a status of mere employee. This helps in avoiding monotony without compromising the focus in the subject.

The worksheets given in every chapter, are aptly designed to make students think again and again, as many answers are subjective, that they need not be same between students, which leads to ‘CREATIVITY’, undoubtedly. The requirement of ‘USER FRIENDLINESS’ is completely achieved with the able support of the artist who has designed the sketches, diagrams and figures effectively which, once again confirms synchronization of different features of teaching.

I am sure, the objectives of the book will be met, by all means, by all the fraternity i.e teachers, students, examiners etc.In a nutshell, while appreciating the efforts of the 'BRAHMAS' of this book, I feel

like changing our old proverb as “V£L¢Riu¡fhŒ f¿¡F cjΫ” as with time, everything has to change positively.
