BBFC Post

The BBFC are the British Board of Film Classification and they set the certificate for films and regulate what age rating they should be. This judges on things predominantly on things such as themes and tone and impact. Things such as discrimination, nudity, violence, language, drug use are all taken into consideration.

I think our film would be certified at a 15 because there are uses heavily of violence and violent themes, as well as things such as a revenge plot and later probably later on in very bad language and Adult themes to an extent.

We will need to consider the amount of violence used in our film opening so that it doesn’t breach the 15 barrier into an 18 then we feel we would lose some of our under 35 target audience. We will use some senses of torturing on the hostages but only in the sense to implement fear amongst them, this will include at the end one of them being shot in the chest.
