As a non-profit professional in New York City, Kekla Magoon
understood how to reach young people. She is an ALA Coretta Scott King New Talent Award
Recipient and an NAACP Image Award nominee.
NANCY DEVARD
A best selling illustrator, NancyDevard is a Temple
University graduate and former Development Engineer.
TANITA DAVIS
Bay Area native, Tanita Davis currently lives in Glasgow, Scotland.
She finds inspiration by listening to the world around her.
GREG NERI
Greg Neri is a teen fiction writer. He has written, produced, and directed
an independent feature film called A Weekend with Barbara and Ingrid.
RANDY DUBURKE
In 2003, Randy DuBurke was awarded the Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe award. Having lived in Georgia and
New York, DuBurke currently lives in Switzerland.
CHRISTINE TAYLOR-BUTLER
Christine Taylor-Butler has won many awards including Barnes & Noble
Review Best Children's Books of the Year. She is a passionate writer that looks to overcome stereotypes of multi-cultural
children in children’s books.

An award winning author, Hope Anita Smith has been a
storyteller, teacher, photographer, artist and a singer.
ALLISON WHITTENBERG
Allison Whittenberg is an author, poet and playwright. Her plays include
The Bard of Frogtown and I Don’t Dance.
DESHAWN SNOW & DAVID PERRIN III
Philanthropist and television personality, Deshawn Snow has created a Christian
book series centered around the character Lil Shawnee.
Illustrator and designer from Detroit, MichiganDavid Perrin III was a comic book artist for
Marvel Comics, Dark Horse Comics and other major publishers. He conceives and designs
toys and award winning packaging.
