ARCOS DE LAPA Anther beautiful

architectural building is the Arcos da Lapa.

This building was built to symbolizes Rio de Janiero’s colonial period.

It was built in the 18th century to bring fresh water from the Carioca river into Rio de Janiero.

CORCOVADO – CHRIST THE REDEEMER Over 300,000 people visit

this monument of Jesus Christ every year.

This beautiful monument sits on the Corcovado and over looks the city of Rio de Janiero . The Corcovado symbolizes Brazil’s religion and, “welcomes the city and its people with open arms.”

This statue is a gift from France and it is 100 ft tall and has a chapel underneath the statue.

ESTÁDIO DO MARACANÃ

Estádio do Maracanã is an open-air soccer stadium located in Rio de Janiero.

This stadium was opened in 1950 to anchor the FIFA World Cup. This stadium was designed by seven different architects.

This stadium will hold the Soccer World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016.

RIO DE JANEIRO CATHEDRAL The Rio de Janeiro

Cathedral makes Brazil special because of its modernistic architecture

This Beautiful Cathedral, located in Rio de Janiero, is dedicated to Saint Sebastian.

This Cathedral was replaced by older churches and was built between 1964 and 1979.

This Cathedral is known for its beautiful display of stain glass windows and its height, which is 246ft tall.
