- Was born July 3, 1967 in Rockville Center, New York - Cashman was raised in Washingtonville, New York before moving to Lexington, Kentucky with his family - His father managed a farm in Kentucky that raise standardbreds for harness racing-He later moved to Washington D.C.

- Cashman’s job as an intern was to help out in the minor league scouting department - He also made some extra money by working stadium security at night - He was employed by the Yankees full-time in 1992 - Cashman worked his way up through the ranks becoming Farm System Director, Assistant General Manager and finally in 1998 he was promoted to General Manager, a position he has held to this day - has won 4 World Series Championships with the Yankees

- Cashman attended the Catholic University of America - Cashman played second base for the baseball team as a four year starter - Cashman set a record for most hits in a season during his time there - Cashman began interning for the Yankees in the summer of 1987
