Page 2: Brief lesson plan on digestive system

A diagram of the digestive system with its parts will be shown using a projector. Discussion will follow.

Questions for Discussion:-Where does the food begins its journey?- What are the functions of the digestive system?

E. Values Integration-Accept the facts that have recently learned. Discuss some health issues/diseases regarding the digestive system if not properly taken care of.F. Activity - Group yourselves into 10. Each group must contain 3 members each. Construct a diagram on how the food travels from the time it enters the mouth to how it is being removed as waste. After that, write a song that relates to your diagram with its tune from any existing songs and present it to the class.

III. EvaluationIdentification.

1. It is also known as oral cavity where it contains many accessory organs that aid in the digestion of food.

2. It is a long, thin tube about 1 inch in diameter and about 10 feet long that is part of the lower gastrointestinal tract that extracts 90% of nutrients by the time the food leave.

3. It absorbs water and contains many symbiotic bacteria that aid in the breaking down of wastes to extract some small amounts of nutrients.

4. muscular sac that is located on the left side of the abdominal cavity that acts as storage tank of food.

5. It carries swallowed masses of chewed food to the stomach.6. These are accessory organs that produce a watery secretion known as

saliva. 7. acts as a switch to route food to the esophagus and air to the larynx.8. designed for cutting and grinding food into smaller pieces9. its main function in digestion is to produce bile and secretes it into the

small intestine.10. Used to store and recycle excess bile from the small intestine so that it

can be reused for the digestion of subsequent meals.Enumeration:Give the six processes of the digestive system.

IV. AssignmentIn ½ sheet of yellow paper, list some digestive disorders including how you can treat it.
