Those selected to present will be notified by May 20, 2016. # ALTARGANA 2016 CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Russia and the Mongol World: Vector of RapprochementYEGUNOV READINGS–7 International Conference within the frameworks of 2016 World Buryat Festival ‘Altargana’ / Ulan-Ude, Republic of Buryatia, Russia Convenor: Buryat State University, Date: 29–30 June, 2016 The Conference aims at exploration of the Russo-Mongolian relations both in historical perspective and nowadays, the role of the Buryats as mediators in the relations between Russia and pax mongolica, the issues of political, military, cultural, religious, social and economic interaction of Russia (USSR) and Mongolia (MPR) in various time periods. The committee of the conference invites international researchers to participate with papers on historical paths of the Buryats, various aspects of the Buryat and other Mongol traditional cultures, issues of Buryat language and language policy in Buryatia as well as today’s transformative processes taking place in the Mongolian society. Conference fee (50 USD) can be paid at the registration desk in cash only. It will cover opening reception, ex- cursions, coffee breaks. We will offer cheap and conveniently located accommodation to the first 50 officially registered participants for the period of 28 Junes – 3 July 2016 (the days of Altargana festival).
