Student’s Learning Outcome
• Make simple sentences using SV (Subject + Verb) and SVO (Subject + Verb + Object) pattern.
• Demonstrate use of subject – verb agreement according to person and number.

A Sentence is a group of words which starts with capital letter and ends with full stop (.), question mark (?) etc.
Structure of Sentence• VERBS
• SUBJECTS
• PREDICATES
Subject + Verb (SV) or Subject + Verb + Object (SVO).
• The SUBJECT is usually a noun, a word that names a person, place, or thing. (Ali, Hasan, He, She, They, Karachi)
• The VERB usually follows the subject and identifies an action or state being. (play, read, drink etc)
• Nouns may also work as OBJECTS in sentences (subjects usually do, objects receive the action and usually follow the verb.
CONTINUED………• The subject and verb must agree in number: both
must be singular, or both must be plural. e.g. The student sings. The children sing.
• THE PREDICATE; After identification of Subject, the remaining part of sentence tells us what the subject does or did. This part of sentence is called predicate.
• Aslam plays football.
• Majida reads books.
