“I've come up with a set of rules that describe our reactions to technologies:
1. Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works.
2. Anything that's invented between when you’re 15 and 35 is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it.
3. Anything invented after you're 35 is against the natural order of things.”
Douglas Adams Author

Rules and Expectations
• Always use your iPad in ways that are appropriate and respectful to your teacher, your classmates, your parents and yourself
• At school, your teachers set the rules on how you use your iPad
• At home, your parents set the rules on how you use your iPad.
• Charge your iPad at home every night and bring it to school ready to use
• Backup your important files regularly (Google Drive, iCloud, iTunes, DropBox, etc)
• Look after your iPad!
Suggestions and strategies for home
• Come to an agreement with your daughter regarding her technology use
• Set limits on what is acceptable - time, place, etc • Only use technology in shared spaces. Going to bed
does not require an iPad! • Be actively involved in your daughter’s iPad use. Get
her to show you what she can do! • Feel free to look through the iPad. Nothing on your
daughter’s iPad should be a secret. • You are the parent. Your say is final.
Is it ok if I…
• Put apps on my iPad? • Have music? • Have games? • Use FaceTime? • <insert question here>
It’s your iPad.
Setting up an Apple ID
• Your Apple ID is your relationship with Apple’s App Store and iTunes Store
• Your Apple ID is linked to an email address • Your daughter will need an Apple ID to install apps
and use various features of the iPad
