CD BookletInformation:The CD front cover, back cover and booklet were all created using Photoshop CC. I created several different practice pieces but was left unhappy with the results until I created my final pieces.

Above is an example of a practice CD front cover, back cover and an insert that I made also in Photoshop CC.

Front cover:

The reason I chose this design was to create intertextuality between the video which involves shots of an artist creating a painting which contains lyrics to the songs chorus.

In this screenshot you can see that the layer 1 provides the background for the whole picture.

In this screenshot, you can see that I used the pen tool to essentially cut out one of the actors in the music video from a screenshot taken from the music video to remove him from the background.

Once I had successfully cut him out into a silhouette I was pleased with, I then duplicated the layers in order to create this effect. Then I added the text and created a box using the shape tool which left me with the final product.

Back cover: I also used the same font and box created using the shape tool on the back cover to make sure the CD cover remained consistent

The spine I chose to leave simple to prevent the cover becoming too overpowering.

I added a barcode in the bottom left corner to make sure it was discreet and wouldn’t distract the consumer from the rest of the back cover.

The background art is also the same as on the front cover in order to add to consistency and so that the consumer can recognise the album from seeing this artwork.

I created the production company ‘Throne Cinema’ and therefore they would hold the rights to this album.

Inserts:The inserts consist of the songs listed on the back cover and a few photographs that I edited by layering and reducing the opacity on photoshop CC.

Songs:

The reason I chose the paint brush background was to create consistent intertextuality between the music video (having an artist) and the CD cover.
