Microdata
Microdata for Scotland 2011 data (i.e. Samples of Anonymised Records, SARs):
‘Teaching File’ of microdata is available, comprising anonymised 1% sample of records from Scotland
Safeguarded files (more detailed and available only via UKDS for download under special user agreement)
o Scotland level (5% sample of individuals)
o Local authority level (also 5%)
Secure files
o 10% sample, available only via UKDS under Approved Researcher Licence

Aggregate Data
The UK DataService's InFuse tool:
has aggregate data for selected variables down to local authority level
includes data from the 2011 censuses of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland
can be used to compare data from the different constituent parts of the UK.
