Adam in Beijing, Florence in Xian, Jackie in Shanghai and Kenny in Guilin, they were all really helpful and well organised, Adam especially coping with a large group of travellers, many with different itineraries and schedules.”

Liz Mclean – Best of China

Thank you so much for arranging our trip to China and Hong Kong. We had an amazing time. First, can we please advise you of our satisfaction with our tour guide in Guilin, called Helen. Helen was amazing, and one of the nicest tour guides we had. She was very informative and took the time to explain things to us, she was fantastic! Guilin is a beautiful city and we are so grateful for the chance to experience it. We were also very happy with our tour guide in Shanghai, called David. David was very nice and both Helen and David spoke very good English.

Our trip was the experience of a lifetime and we have no regrets. The great wall was absolutely fantastic, a completely memorable experience! It was amazing to experience the culture of China and Hong Kong, and we will never forget it!Thank you so much again, from both Carson and I.

IndiaWhy choose India?India is a land that will excite the senses with its diversity; from the north, bordered by the world’s highest mountain chain, to the south with its plateaus, tropical rain forests and deserts that are boarded by palm fringed beaches.

With a history that goes back to 3,200 BC when Hinduism was fi rst founded, Buddhism, Jainism. Sikhism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam all exist side by side within the country today.

The history of India has seldom been the same for two adjoining territories, and its great natural wealth has lured a succession of traders and foreign infl uences to it, each having left their imprint in the country, however faint or localized. Thus, Chinese fi shing nets in Kerala are a throwback to that country’s ancient maritime trade, while in the north; terra-cotta fi gurines of the centuries BC bear distinctly Greek traces.

The Taj Mahal at Agra, Red Fort in Delhi, the famed Temples of Khajuraho, the Hindu holy river Ganges, man made waterways of Alleppey, spice plantations of Thekkady or the Wildlife Sanctuary situated on Periyar Lake are all part of Travman’s India.

With a Travman holiday in India you will experience the ancient monuments and local bazaars of a modern vibrant country where temple elephants exist with the microchip, a country which is the world’s largest democracy and where industrial development has bought it within the world’s top ten nations. A country that looks forward to the future and holds on with reverence and respect to the past.

DelhiThe capital of India is an amalgam of the old and the new. Delhi is divided into two parts. The old Delhi or Delhi was one of the capitals of Muslim India between the 12th and 19th centuries. Old forts, mosques and monuments related to India’s Muslim history are located here. New Delhi is the imperial city, which was created as the capital by the British. It is spread over a wide area and is lined with imposing boulevards. Delhi is a major travel gateway into India.

AgraAgra is globally renown as the city of the Taj Mahal. But this royal Mughal city has, in addition to the legendary Taj, many monuments that epitomise the high pointof Mughal architecture. In the Mughal period,in the 16th and 17th centuries, Agra wasthe capital of India. It was here that the founder of the dynasty, Babar, laid out the fi rst formal Persian garden on the banks of the river Yamuna. Here, Akbar, his grandson raised the towering ramparts of the great Red Fort. Within its walls, Jehangir built rose-red palaces, courts and gardens, and Shahajahan embellished it with marble mosques, palaces and pavilions of gem-inlaidwhite marble.

Mumbai The capital of Maharashtra, is the fastest moving, most affl uent and industrialised city in India. Mumbai is part of India’s beautiful west coast that runs down from Gujarat, through Mumbai to Goa, Karnataka and Kerala. The city has a natural harbour, whichwas developed by the British. It is one of thebusiest ports of India, handling approximately40 percent of India’s maritime trade. Mumbai (till recently known as ‘Bombay’) derives its name from the local deity Mumbai Devi, whose temple is still there.
