Target Audience

Explain in detail the target audience for each sitcom. You should include each of the following:

Social Factors- age, gender, ethnicity, socio-demographic grouping

Media Interests- what other types of media would they use and why

Thinking Point: Why is it important for a producer to know in detail who their

target audience are?

Institutional knowledge Discuss why the programs are scheduled on the channels

which they are aired on (include viewing figures in your notes

Audience Appeal

Using the audience theory which we have covered explain the different pleasures which these two sitcoms offer their audiences. You need to refer to specific examples in your answers

Assessed Essay (50mins)

Discuss how two sitcoms which you have studied appeal to their target audience, and why they are scheduled when they are.
