Page 3: Conservation of energy

We use energy for

many purposes in

our daily life.

Page 4: Conservation of energy

In today’s world nothing

will happen without energy.

Energy is the basic needs.

Page 5: Conservation of energy

But we are continuously exploiting our natural resources resulting in

shortage of natural energy resources

Page 6: Conservation of energy

IT IS AN SHOCKING FACT THAT THE EXISTING COAL SUPPLY ONLY LAST FOR 145 YEARS, OIL SUPPLY FOR 38 YEARS AND NATURAL

GAS FOR 61 YEARS

Page 7: Conservation of energy

Now this is an high time to convert into renewable resources

Page 8: Conservation of energy

Why we had to change into renewable energy resources?

Because, if we continuously use these existing resources then it will lead to severe shortages and crisis of electricity and petroleum

Page 9: Conservation of energy
Page 10: Conservation of energy

Types of renewable energy resources:• Solar energy:

Page 11: Conservation of energy

It is calculated that sun’s energy would last for more than 1 billion years

Page 12: Conservation of energy

Sun’ s energy can be easily harvested using photovoltaic electric cell. The setting up of solar cells may be costly but it will be effective

Page 13: Conservation of energy

•Wind energy:

Page 14: Conservation of energy

Wind power is used from early days for grinding of grains and

pumping out water

Page 15: Conservation of energy

Wind power is extracted from air flow using wind

turbines. The net effects of environment are generally less problematic than non-

renewable resources

Page 16: Conservation of energy

Hydropower energy:

Page 17: Conservation of energy

Hydropower energy is generated by potential energy stored by dams. It is cheap, clean and very efficient.

Page 18: Conservation of energy

Bio-diesel:

Page 19: Conservation of energy

Bio-diesel are best alternative fuel to existing combustion engines.

Page 20: Conservation of energy

Bio-diesel is a clean and efficient fuel and does not emit any green house gases.

Page 21: Conservation of energy

We students can conserve energy by adopting simple techniques

Switch OFF electrical appliances which are working wastely

Page 22: Conservation of energy

Always use front load washing machine because top load washing machine use high amount of electricity and water

Page 23: Conservation of energy

Switch old incandescent bulbs into CFL and LED bulbs

Page 24: Conservation of energy

Convert your old electronic appliances to newer ones to save energy. Because older appliances designs are not meant for saving energy

Page 25: Conservation of energy

Air conditioners should be operated at a temperature of 20 degrees in winter and 26 degrees in summer to save energy and to enjoy optimum cooling performance

Page 26: Conservation of energy

Clean AC’s air filters to improve efficiency of cooling and to improve air flow

Page 27: Conservation of energy

For travelling short distances don’t use vehicles, go by walk or cycle.

Page 28: Conservation of energy

Always check your vehicle tire pressure as it can also contribute to the use of petrol

Page 29: Conservation of energy

Always drive vehicles with the speed limit of 45-60kmph to save fuel

Page 30: Conservation of energy

Servicing your vehicle at regular intervals will lessen the amount of fuel used by engine and make your vehicle run smoothly.

Page 31: Conservation of energy

Always try your level best to use public transportation, avoid private transportation at all costs

Page 32: Conservation of energy

Don’t leave your fridge door open frequently, because it will cause heat gain and the fridge had to draw more power to keep its cooling

Page 33: Conservation of energy

Heat insulate your house’s doors and windows to keeping your house’s temperature low and to save electricity

Page 34: Conservation of energy

Plug out electric appliances which is not in use

Page 35: Conservation of energy

SAVE ELECTRICITY!SAVE WORLD!

If we work hard with determination we can create a green earth
