Objectives

This is part 2 of a Caregiver Support training for LSMW professionals who interact with informal caregivers in a therapeutic setting.

In this segment, you will learn how to conduct a Caregiver Risk Assessment (CRA), which is the basis for the Caregiver Support Plan.

Working collaboratively, you will:

1. Analyze and discuss a caregiver scenario for information related to the CRA.

2. Discuss and prioritize caregiver risk factors identified through CRA.

3. Present your working CRA and what you draw from the experience.

Part One: Scenario Analysis

In the previous training, you learned about the health risks of caregiving, as well as how to identify and approach caregivers about their support.

In this exercise, you will work collaboratively with peers to analyze the following caregiver scenario, and complete the Caregiver Risk Assessment to the best of your ability.

You will now be directed to a new window and asked to create a Wikispaces.com profile. Please complete this activity by 3/27/15 12am.

Caregiver Risk Assessment

The Caregiver Risk Assessment is a standard questionnaire used in social work to identify factors which could negatively affect the caregiver and his or her ability to carry out caregiving.

DIRECTIONS:

Using the previous activity as a basis, fill out the CRA for Joe to the best of your ability. Create another document to note questions and thoughts for your peers.

Next week we will meet synchronously via Google Hangouts (a link will be sent). You will present a brief analysis of your working CRA, and field questions and comments in a professional discussion format.

You will now be directed to the CRA form on a Google Doc. The CRA and presentation are individual work.
