CTET which is also known Central Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted by CBSE (Central Board of

Secondary Education).It has been made mandatory for recruitment in KVS, NVS and Tibetan School.

In accordance with the portions of Sub Section of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the national Council for

Teacher Education (NCTE) laid down the minimum qualification for a person to be eligible for

appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII. Some private schools which do not considered teachers

eligibility test (TET) at state level consider CTET Scores.

The aim of this test is to uplift the standard of teaching and to create a benchmark in the quality of

education by the government.

CTET Consist of two papers:-Paper 1 and Paper 2 respectively. Paper 1 is for those who intent to be a

primary teacher for (Classes for I to V) where as Paper II in for those who intent to become elementary

teacher for classes VI TO VIII the syllabus for it Consist of multiple choice questions on Subjects

Compulsory Subjects like child Development & Pedagogy Language I and language II. However, Paper

Optional Subjects like Math’s and Science are given to particular teachers.
