Now that you know what the school wants, it is slightly easier to structure your response. You need to target these three areas and show the school exactly why and how are you the ideal choice.

You have plenty of choices here. You can talk about an ethical dilemma, or a work conflict or a very challenging work problem. It is vitally important to share your thoughts.

What all did you go through? What made it so

challenging? What options did you

consider?

The first part or the introduction should focus on the situation itself. Make the problem clear in the beginning so that you do not lose your reader. Do not keep them guessing.

Now, once the problem is on the table, the next part or paragraph can be spent talking about your thought process when you were tackling the issue.

• Did you look towards someone for advice?

• Did you take ownership?• Do not hesitate in sharing the

details. What was the final outcome?

• What were the things that helped you tackle the situation?

• How did you grow through the experience?

Remember the three things the school is looking at. Target those keywords and you should be on your way to a winning essay.

These should take up a total of about 300 to 350 words. The concluding paragraph should focus on the lessons you learned about yourself.

If applicable, how would you approach the problem now? In terms of words, plan to spend about 150 to 200 words.
