•  3  short  quesNons  a^er  each  module  –  You  must  answer  these  correctly  in  order  to  advance  to  the  next  module  

•  CompleNon  of  modules  is  part  of  assessment  (credit/no  credit)

PaNent  viewing  

•  Mandatory  a`endance  •  One  whole  day  of  paNent/clinical  staNons  •  Divided  into  4  groups  (A,  B,C,  D)  •  Each  group  divided  into  16  groups  of  4  – You  will  go  around  the  staNons  in  these  groups  of  4  

•  Each  staNon  will  have  a  preceptor  •  Each  staNon  is  8  minutes  long,  with  2  minutes  to  move  between  staNons

ON  PATIENT  VIEWING  DAY  •  Bring  clipboard  and  pen  •  Bring  lunch  •  Dress  professionally  •  Go  directly  to  your  assigned  site  on  your  assigned  day  

•  Don’t  forget  to  sign  in  sign-­‐in  sheet  •  There  will  be  people  there  who  will  show  you  to  your  first  staNon

•  For  your  own  learning  •  Does  NOT  need  to  be  submi`ed  •  Serves  as  a  summary  for  the  staNons  you  saw  and  main  learning  points  from  each  staNon

CASE  WRITE-­‐UP  (SOAP  NOTE)  •  One  staNon  is  focused  on  taking  a  history  of  a  paNent  who  

comes  in  for  a  skin  check  (SP)  –  Group  should  perform  a  focused  derm  history  and  physical  exam  

•  The  next  staNon  is  a  rest  staNon  where  you  can  write  your  SOAP  note  

•  Next  staNon  will  be  a  discussion  on  risk  factors  for  skin  cancers,  etc  

•  Next  staNon  is  another  rest:  modify/edit/complete  you  SOAP  note  

•  Submit  this  SOAP  note  at  the  end  of  pa(ent  viewing  •  Serves  as  aEendance  •  Part  of  your  assessment/grade

•  40  items,  MCQ  •  Friday,  September  11,  2015  – 8:30-­‐9:30  am  – MSB  

•  There  will  be  photos  •  Based  on  paNent  viewing  and  online  modules.

ASSESSMENT  

•  Credit/No  credit  – A`endance  at  paNent  viewing  – Professionalism  form  – Online  modules/quizzes  

•  Graded  (passing  mark:  60%)  – Exam  (80%)  – Case  write-­‐up  (20%)
