DESCRIPTION

Design Thinking Action Lab By Leticia Britos Cavagnaro, Stanford University Topic: "How to make next step from School, University to unknown world" Phase: "Conclusion" ----------- One of the key conclusions was: Design Thinking is much more powerful than I thoughts before. It can be used in the areas I have not associated with it even including deeply personal sphere. Even small personal topics can be tackled by Design Thinking, can bering very vibrant ideas and solutions. The power of empathy is one of the key elements of whole this story and not only – it is a key element of any relationship, any part of our life and … is a "Must" for the creativity where any idea, any though has a chance to become a treasure of everything.

Prior to the course…

■ Curiosity – how such creative process can be taught online

■ Observe “another” Design thinking approach■ Have a deep dive into some of the phases

■ … just open for unexpected

Expectations

Challenge

■ Experience Design Thinking is for the design of something: solution, tool, product or even process

■ ...■ The task assigned during the Class:

“Student --> Work” ● How ?● How to help making next steps ?

Page 6: Design Thinking Action Lab -- Symmer 2013 -- Conclusion

Aha effect

■ Challenge from unexpected area…

■ There is a real case in the where kid of my friends experience exactly this Challenge…

■ I propose to play together more for fun applying Design Thinking approach to very personal sphere

Page 7: Design Thinking Action Lab -- Symmer 2013 -- Conclusion

Feel, my feel

■ It works, discussions around topic become much more constructive, personal feelings and protective shell go aside allowing to talk about things, which were not desire to touch, which produce rather pain then pleasure

■ Personal fears, self protection really step aside and discussion, play, ideation – all goes very well

Page 8: Design Thinking Action Lab -- Symmer 2013 -- Conclusion

Feel, this person feel

■ “I could talk about things, which I would not talk”■ “I like it and would like to continue”■ “This is the first time the discussion was not in the way: -

this what you need to do”■ “it is much more personal and I am in the center of the

process”■ “it was first time the discussion was about emotions,

feelings”■ “I have a plan”

Page 9: Design Thinking Action Lab -- Symmer 2013 -- Conclusion

And now ?

Person■ Person has a plan, has much more thoughts on the table■ Most options are known and discussed■ The solution is selected and plan is developed

Me■ I am bigger fan of Design Thinking than I was before■ It is applicable to any sphere of the live, even deeply

personal■ It is very powerful

Instead of conclusion

The person I was playing assignments has made another step towards own desiresWhether s/he made a nest step according to the outlines plan – I do not know yet, I hope s/he will

What I am absolutely certain – this person has completely different understanding of her/is situation and much more solid stone to jump from

And I wish her/im “Good Luck!”
