The logo of Universal, is designed to replicate the films that they produce, being able to appeal to a multitude of audiences, hence the world in the background of the logo. This is important as it indicates a wide audience for the film that is being shown.

Another aspect of the logo is the audio that we hear when being presented with the logo. We hear very sudden and dramatic music that draws us into the overall idea of the logo and gets us ready for the film itself.

A lot of the films that Universal represent are generally very family orientated films, which I think is important to understand when looking at the Universal logo.

The logo is very simple and is not that developed so that it can appeal to a wider audience. The logo has a somewhat shield shaped face, which would indicate a strength and importance of the company. This is a good way of presenting this because it shows the dominance that the film company hold amongst other productions.

The sound used in the logo is quite dramatic and as the shield comes into shot, everything gets louder and we continue to get more drawn in by what we are about to see. This is an important technique to use in logos to make sure that the company is memorable to an audience.

Many of the Warner Bros. movies that are out there tend to focus on very specific ideas, that generally appeal to a wide variety of audiences such as the recent epic, Man of Steel.

20th century Fox, much like the other two logos, also has that family orientated feel to it. This is due to the welcoming colours that we are shown along with the gradual introduction of the actual company name. The music that accompanies this is somewhat of a drum roll to build up the anticipation, which I think has been used in this sense extremely well.

I like the use of the panning and zooming in and out to put more emphasis of the company rather that just simply showing it to the audience. This makes it memorable and will subconsciously make the audience want to watch more movies produced by the same company.

When it comes to creating my own logo, I want to make sure that it represents me and the type of films that I am going to create.

These films are going to centre around mainly dramas, with sub-genres of romance, comedy, action, thriller etc.

Therefore I want my logo to somehow represent all of these different ideas in one interesting looking logo.

When it comes to the music in my logo I am going to use similar ideas to the other logos that I have looked at and follow a kind of drum roll into the logo to get the audience anticipated for what they are about to see. I think that this would be the best way of adding sound into it, as it is the best way for an audience to get ready for what they are going to see.
