Introduction:• According to the Diabetes and Its

Management book, (1996), Diabetes Mellitus was known in antiquity and remains today a world-wide health problem. Many of people are suffering from this disease. Nowadays, Diabetes Mellitus is one of the most common diseases in school –aged children. The number of children that suffer from this disease is increasing year by year.

Definition of Diabetes Mellitus:• Diabetes is a disease in which the body does

not produce or properly use insulin, a hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches, and other food into energy needed for daily life. This source adds that, “Diabetes also can be said as a condition in which where there is an abnormally high level of sugar (glucose) in the blood. Normal blood glucose level is 110mg/dL while diabetic blood glucose is higher than 126mg/dL.”
