FINAL CUT EXPRESS

Final Cut Express was without a doubt the most important tool that I had learned to use in the production of this film. As we were using Mac’s to edit, we had to use Final Cut Express. I had learnt different ways to be able to use the program, such as changing the colour as shown in the picture, the different levels of volume, and most importantly for our opening sequence, was to crop out any unneeded length of footage that we had. Final Cut Express was a pain to use at the start, especially as I was not used to Mac’s, but after doing research on the different tools and different capabilities that it had to offer, I started to become much better, as well as the whole group, and we ended up with our end result, Menace, which I am very proud of due to being able to use Final Cut Express. Another fantastic feature that Final Cut Express had, and also my favourite, was the possibilities that you could have with the fonts and titles.

GARAGEBAND

Another fantastic tool that I had learnt to use was Garageband. Garageband allowed for the use to be able to make music from scratch and to be able to combine the use of pre-recordings as well as using your own. We used Garageband at the start of our opening sequence and in the flashback scene. This allowed us to make music that was genuine and only something that we had in our opening sequence alone.

CANON EOS 600D-SLR CAMERA

One of the most important tools that I got to use and was vital for our opening sequence was the Canon EOS 600D-SLR Camera. This camera was used to film the footage, as well as record the audio that was being used to also film the video in 1080p, as well as take shots of the scenes, our group working and so on. At first, It was rather difficult using the cameras as I had problems with the focus, however after using the manual setting and the lens to properly be able to focus, I found it very nice and very easy to use. The video was easy to record and came up on the digital screen at the front of the camera and made it much easier. This was the technology I learnt most from, and also enjoyed the most.

WEBSITE CREATOR - WIX

One of the most important tools again, the website creator we used for our opening sequence – Wix. This website creator was fantastic, and also free. It gave us a range of options, to be able to design our website in a unique way, and to be able to add apps such as Prezi, Slideshare and other HTML apps that we had to integrate into our website. Although, the only difficulty with Wix is that there were a few problems with being able to upload all of our photos and audio recordings on Wix due to the limits and the minor problems that it suffers with Safari ( although we resolved this in installing Google Chrome ). However, we found ways to get around this, such as uploading our recordings onto YouTube. Using this piece of technology has given me priceless experience on how to make a website, and will be valuable in the future and give me the skills to be able to do so.
