INFLUENTIAL MAGAZINE COVER

Title: I chose to use Empire as it’s a well known and successful magazine. It will help relate and attract my audience by using a recognisable magazine which they are more likely to pick up.

Date and Price: Both fundamental convention that need to be added for the convenience of the purchaser as they need to know how relevant and new the magazine is and how much they will be paying for such magazine.

Website: A convention that is being used more and more due to ease of access to the internet and products being a lot more successful when they are able to be seen electronically. This is why I chose to add the website.

Font and colour scheme: I have tried to make these continuous throughout but with as much variation as I could to make it look different and eye catching. I did this by using different closely related fonts and different shades of colours, that also linked in with the background and my theme of red white and blue.

Image: I didn’t want to use a totally conventional image of a poor male, looking tattered etc. I thought about this but thought that using my actor better presented in a suit, would portray a different message and character as he was having an interview and photo shoot and not solely on the film, I think this is an important point to bring across.

Detail: all of the information I have put into my magazine is relevant to the film itself or other films etc. I also added my other peers names of their films as I thought this would be a nice touch as the films are all relevant to each other.

Barcode: a fundamental characteristic of all magazines.

Banners and separators: Seen in some magazine covers to help separate colours and subheadings, to please the consumers eye more so it isn't great blocks of text.
