This would largely appeal to a younger target audience, girls aged 14-19. This is because the way its set out and looks makes it easier for them to read it.

The colours used in these are very bright and colourful which represents what Nicki’s personality could be like. She is also known for loving the ‘Barbie pink’ colour which is the background colour of the article. The colour of her lipstick also matches the writing which are both pink. The use of vibrant and feminine colours could state that this article is mainly aimed towards females.

The main image of Nicki is placed almost in the middle of both pages and the text frames her. This shows that because she took up more space, her image is more significant. She’s wearing a black and white stripped tight shirt which shows off her body.

The structure of the article went against the conventions of normal magazine because they tend to have the picture on only one page of the double spread but this article has Nicki spread across both pages. This was exaggerated with her elbows sticking up, covering the last letter of her name. This also highlights her fame because people would be able to know what it says without reading the full name. The bold writing also takes up most of the space.

The fonts used also represent Nicki’s personality because there is a range of big bold fonts as well as small curly ones. This could state that even though she does music from the same genre as what men are mostly associated with, she can still be very feministic. The word ‘Gospel’ used in the masthead could symbolise that people view her in a holy form, like a God, which shows how influential she is.
