Refresher: Policy and Procedure
Frequent last-minute training cancellations and rescheduling impact our professional image in the community and adds to our program costs to remedy each occurrence.
Instructor Call Outs (P&P, V5)
“If, for some reason, you are unable to make your
scheduled training during your contract season, you must
contact gerontology immediately”
“Excessive cancelations will be calculated in your
annual instructor evaluation.”
Refresher: Policy and Procedure
The following are some examples of cancellations may be excused:• Illnesses and hospitalizations
(must provide a doctor’s note) • Unavoidable scheduling
conflicts where the instructor notifies gerontology at least one week prior to the scheduled training
• Death in your immediate family (e.g., parents, spouses, siblings, children)
The following are some examples of cancellations that may not be excused: • Car broke down • Laptop stopped working • Avoidable scheduling conflicts
(e.g., appointments, meetings, etc.)
If you have to call out after office hours, you must immediately contact Jennifer Pryor at (804) 497-9033.
