TYPES OF E-LEARNINGSYNCHRONOUS TRAININGASYNCHRONOUS TRAINING

Page 11: E learning rehna

SYNCHRONOUSAt the same time.Involves interaction of participants with an

instructor via the web in real time.Participants interact with each other &

instructors through , Instant messaging Chat Audio & video conferencing Eg:VCR’s or virtual classrooms online.

Page 12: E learning rehna

Benefits

Ability to log or track learning activities.Continuous monitoring & correction is

possible.Possibilities of global connectivity &

collaboration opportunities among learners. Ability to personalize the training for each

learner.

Page 13: E learning rehna

ASYNCHRONOUS Not at the same time.Allows the participants to complete the WBT(Web-based training) at

their own pace ,without live interaction with the instructor. It offers the learners the information they need whenever they need it. It also has interaction amongst participants through, Message boards Bulletin boards Discussion forums Computer based training(CBT’s) Modules on CD-ROM’s Web based training (intranet, well written articles &

other write ups) (WBT’s).

Page 14: E learning rehna

Benefits

Available ‘just in time’for instant learning & reference.Flexibility of access from any where at

anytime.Ability to simultaneously reach an unlimited

number of employees.Uniformity of content & onetime cost of

production.

Advantages of e-learningE-learning /online learning proves to be a great

alternative in compare to traditional learning.Students have the chance to stuydy in their own

time & especially for free.Represents a great way to study many fields & to

boost the level of self motivation. So effective because students can finish their

homework quickly & there is more time left for hobbies or finding a job.

With basically an internet connection, a person can attend different courses.

Students develop responsibilty & self discipline.

DISADVANTAGES OF E-LEARNING

Only in a small group a person can develop properely. At school, students learn how to make friends, be patient, get rid of disappointment, and especially to complete.

Competition between colleagues can be very stimulating & students will only benefit from it.

Cannot offer Human interaction.Online courses cannot cope with thousands of

students that try to join discussions.Online learning can be difficult ,if it is meant for

disciplines that involve practice.

Page 18: E learning rehna

CONCLUSIONE-learning should be seen as a complement &

extension of classical forms of learning. Not even the best online course can fully

replace the personal contact with a teacher,or the human relationships that develop in a group.

So ,traditional classes should not be replaced with online learning.
