E-portfolio

The purpose of this e-portfolio is to help teachers to keep in mind all

the activities and methods they are going to apply during the class. This is the reflection about our lesson planning and classroom

management

Our lesson plan is based on the cognitive outcome and the verbs we took into consideration were: Comprehension and Application.

LEARNER OBJECTIVE: students understand, demonstrate and use different information to introduce themselves and someone else.

INSTRUCTOR OBJECTIVE: To teach students different models to introduce themselves and someone else.

Lesson Planning

CONTENT: IntroductionsMATERIAL: photos, flashcards, board, markers,

notebooks.RATIONALE: When you are learning a foreign

language, it is important to understand what people ask you and also know how to ask personal information in a correct way. So, imagine you go to a party and want to meet a pretty girl (handsome boy). What would you do??? Of course, get close and ask her (him) some personal questions without feeling embarrassed of doing it wrong and that’s the importance of learning how to ask and answer about personal information when meeting someone.

PRE-ASSESSMENT AND BRIDGING (WARM UP)Through a picture of a famous singer/ actor/ actress or player, the teacher asks a student to introduce him/ her.Teacher can be a material producer if students forget to bring their material to class. While students introduce the famous person, the teacher writes the expressions used by them on the board. Teacher can ask some students to write the expressions on the board to involve them actively.

Classroom management PlanningCLASS DEVELOPMENT:Teacher introduces the famous person orally

and later through a brain storming asks students to mention the expression he/ she used to make a comparative chart with the expressions that has already been written on the board.

This comparative chart is the summary because the teacher asks some students to introduce themselves using the correct expressions seen in the comparative chart.

As the topic will be introduced to students as the first time, we think it is better if the sitting arrangement is like this. On the other hand, the interaction pattern that will be carried out at the beginning of this class will be lockstep.

POST- ASSESSMENT:Teacher asks some students to introduce a classmate to the rest of the class. This activity can be used also as a pair work.Teacher motives their participation, and to increase their self teem, he/she can reward them by saying excellent, very good, ok, that’s good, good, or also by giving them an extra point.

Page 9: E-portfolio

TEACHER´S ROLE: during this part of the activity, the teacher will be a guide and monitor.

LINKAGE: (homework) Teacher asks students to look for information about nationalities and occupations and write them down in their notebooks.

ConclusionsThis planning is useful for our classes because we have prepared and considered the class development and we can do different activities during a class and keep students interested in the topic by using pictures of famous people. At the beginning it wasn’t easy for us to follow the elements to have an ideal lesson plan because the jargon was new for us. Now we consider this lesson plan helpful to have an interesting class for our students and to keep in mind all the elements we need to take into account in the teaching learning process.
