For in situ conservation this methodology has been used only as a criterion in studies to:

Identify populations with high priority to be conserved

Identify protected areas which contain target environments / are covering priority populations

Determine optimal places for genetic reserves

Establish CWR national strategies

Prioritize sites to focus on on-farm conservation efforts
