The Soviet Union has never existed and therefore is about as scary as the student unionThey have known only two presidents. For most of their lives, major U.S. airlines have been bankrupt. They are wireless, yet always connected.

A stained blue dress is as famous to their generation as a third-rate burglary was to their parents. Thanks to pervasive headphones in the back seat, parents have

always been able to speak freely in the front. They grew up with and have outgrown faxing as a means of

communication."Google" has always been a verb.Text messaging is their email.

Being techno-savvy has always been inversely proportional to age. They have always been able to watch wars and revolutions live on television. They may have fallen asleep playing with their Gameboys in the crib.Libraries have always been the best centers for computer technology and access to good software.Digital cameras have always existed.

Holistic ApproachHolistic ApproachLooking at the bigger picture of the purpose of this course may help change the perception

You may have to “sell” this course to students and perhaps some faculty (success here may equate to success elsewhere)

Learning styles discovered here can be transfered to other classes
