 GENERAL  ENGLISH  COURSE        English  Language  Courses  at  EIE  Languages  Centre  are  leveled  in  accordance  with  CEFR  guidelines:      Beginners  =  A1  /  Elementary  =  A1+  /  Pre-­‐Intermediate  =  A2  Intermediate  =  B1  /  Upper-­‐Intermediate  =  B2    Advanced  =  C1  /  Proficiency  =  C2        These  courses  are  especially  suited  to  students  of  all  levels  who  want  a  good  foundaEon  in  English  in  a  wide  variety  of  language  areas.  As  well  as  grammar,  vocabulary,  reading  and  wriEng,  the  main  aim  of  our  General  English  language  courses  is  to  help  students  communicate  well  in  everyday  situaEons  both  in  a  naEve  English  speaking  and  non-­‐naEve  English  speaking  environment.        General  English  programmes  are  available  for  levels  of  ability  from  beginner  to  advanced  students.  The  up-­‐to-­‐date  materials  used  on  the  course  have  been  developed  in-­‐house  by  experienced  teachers  to  make  the  course  informaEve  and  fun  yet  challenging.        All  our  lessons  make  full  use  of  modern  faciliEes,  which  means  total  immersion  for  our  students.

 GENERAL  ENGLISH  COURSE  plus  Internship        The  eie  Languages  Centre  Internship  Programme  allows  students  to  develop  proficiency  in  the  English  language  over  an  extended  period  of  Eme,  combining  both  study  and  the  opEon  of  an  unpaid  Internship  in  Malta.    eie  has  developed  its  Academic  Year  Programme  to  allow  students  to  study  for  periods  of  12-­‐50  weeks  (with  12-­‐50  weeks  in-­‐class  tuiEon).  For  this  program  students  may  study  15  hours/week.      Requirements  for  the  Internship  programme:  •  Age  Limit:  18+  •  Start  date:  Any  Monday  throughout  the  year  •  Course  structure:  English  Course  +Internship  in  a  Maltese  company  •  Classes:  Monday  to  Friday  •  English  level:  Intermediate  level  as  a  minimum      Course  Details  With  the  main  focus  on  communicaEon  skills,  the  Academic  Year  course  also  provides  a  solid  foundaEon  in  grammar  and  vocabulary,  incorporaEng  the  four  main  skills  of  listening,  reading,  wriIng  and  speaking.  The  method  used  is  task-­‐based,  meaning  that  by  the  end  of  each  level  students  should  not  only  have  a_ained  a  certain  grammar  and  vocabulary  base,  but  should  also  be  able  to  perform  a  set  list  of  tasks  and  funcEons  through  English.  Combined  with  the  experience  of  using  English  in  the  workplace,  the  course  enables  students  to  pass  through  several  levels  over  the  duraEon  of  his  course.      The  course  consists  of  classes  with  up  to  12  students  in  the  morning  at  eie  for  15  hours  per  week.    In  the  a`ernoon  student  get  learning  experience  in  a  chosen  area  at  a  Maltese  English-­‐speaking  company.  During  his/her  Internship  in  the  workplace  the  student  benefits  from  work  experience  in  the  company/organisaEon,  learning  business  English  and  new  knowledge  in  chosen  field.      Fees  Structure:  General  English  Fee  (see  above)  +  Internship  placement  fee  (Euro  400)
